A man died Monday when he had a heart attack while driving and his car went over an embankment in Washington County.

Samuel House Jr., 88, of Cardale, was pronounced dead about 4 p.m. at the scene of the crash near Leatherman Bridge and Valleyview roads in North Bethlehem, Washington County coroner Tim Warco said in a news release.

It was not immediately clear when the crash occurred. A passer-by spotted the car and called for help. State police are investigating. Coroner Warco ruled the death an accident.
