The Washington County coroner announced Thursday that he plans to investigate the death of an inmate who died in the county jail this fall.
An inmate found Corey Adams, 35, of Canonsburg, lying in a bunk bed in the work release section of the Washington County Correctional Facility on the morning of Oct. 22. The coroner pronounced him dead there shortly after.
The cause and manner of his death were not immediately released, and the coroner could not be reached Thursday night.
The coroner will hold the inquest March 9 in the Juvenile Courtroom of the Family Court Center, 29 W. Cherry Way, Washington.
Court records show that Mr. Adams had been serving a sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol.
