A former Fallowfield police officer who pleaded guilty to stealing drugs from the department's evidence room in 2006 was arrested Saturday in a separate case.
Allen Pettit, 50, of Bridgeville, was arraigned about 9 p.m. Saturday on charges of conspiracy, trespass and theft stemming from an incident earlier in the day, according to court records. Investigating officers from the South Strabane Police Department, which filed the charges, could not be reached for comment.
Mr. Pettit was being held in the Washington County correctional facility Saturday night on $5,000 bail.
He was working as a captain in the Fallowfield department when he was arrested for stealing marijuana and cocaine from its evidence room in February 2006. He resigned later that year amid allegations that he used a township credit card to buy gasoline for himself.
The department disbanded at the end of 2010.
