A 96-year-old Washington County woman died today after being seriously injured by a van that had dropped her off outside her home after grocery shopping rolled over her.

Rose Anderson of Canton died about 1 a.m. today at UPMC Presbyterian, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office.

According to state police in Washington, Ms. Anderson was unloading groceries when the van used by Washington Rides and driven by Selena Verner, 35, rolled backwards over her around noon Friday. She was flown to UPMC Presbyterian.

State police said Friday they planned to inspect the van's transmission and emergency brake.
