At a news conference, police announced they also have charged Mr. Gist's father, Michael Franklin, of Greensburg, with hindering apprehension of his son. Police found Mr. Franklin after searching several locations in Greensburg.

Jolesa Barber and her mother, Kimberly Wade, 42, were wounded in a barrage of bullets fired into a Brightridge Street home they were visiting. Jolesa died a short time later at Allegheny General Hospital. Ms. Wade has undergone multiple surgeries for a serious leg wound.

Earlier this week, police arrested a second suspect, 30-year-old Anthony Wilson, who also has been charged in the shooting.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Nate Harper has said the two suspects are members of a street gang in the North Side's Perry South neighborhood, which has been feuding with another gang.
