Bill Gates is making a farewell tour of campuses Microsoft has helped fund as he prepares to step down as Microsoft chair and devote full time to his foundation.

That mission brought him to Carnegie Mellon University today, where he toured facilities and addressed students and faculty in the Rangos Auditorium on campus.
