Service has resumed on a regional rail line in suburban Philadelphia after an Amtrak train struck and killed a pedestrian.

Officials said the accident happened in Ardmore around 11:20 a.m. Friday.

No one aboard the train was hurt.

An Amtrak spokeswoman said the train was headed from Harrisburg to New York City, with a stop in Philadelphia, when the person was hit.

The investigation forced the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority to suspend service on its regional rail line to Paoli.

SEPTA officials said service resumed around 1 p.m.
