Helicopter pilot dies in Mifflin County crash

Authorities said a helicopter pilot was killed when his aircraft crashed in the middle of a farm in central Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Mifflin County Coroner Daniel Lynch identified the victim as 61-year-old Kenneth Smith.
Mr. Lynch said the McVeytown resident was killed on impact when the engine of the two-seat helicopter shut off and the aircraft crashed into a field Saturday morning.
State police and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
