Gov. Tom Corbett said he likely would cooperate with Attorney General-elect Kathleen Kane's review of the Jerry Sandusky probe unless he believes her review is politically aimed.

"If she begins what is a political investigation, then we'll have some discussions," he said. "I don't think she's going to do that."

Ms. Kane vowed during her campaign to find out why the Penn State University probe started under Mr. Corbett while he was attorney general took nearly three years to result in criminal charges.

Mr. Corbett said prosecutors didn't receive the tip to talk to former Penn State graduate assistant Mike McQueary -- which helped to speed up the case -- until November 2010. Sandusky, a retired Penn State assistant football coach, is in prison for sexually assaulting 10 boys.
