Winter weather watch issued for Wednesday

Heavy snow could make it difficult to travel Wednesday, the National Weather Service warned when it issued a winter weather watch Monday.

Flakes will start to fall late tonight and increase in intensity Wednesday morning and afternoon. The weather service said there is "the potential for at least 6 inches of snow" throughout most of Western Pennsylvania.

The watch applies to Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango and Westmoreland counties.
