Westbound Parkway East to close Friday night, Saturday morning

The westbound side of the Parkway East will be closed from Grant Street to the Fort Pitt Bridge approach from 9 p.m. Friday to about noon Saturday, PennDOT announced today.

Construction there is part of an $8.7 million project to improve 26 ramps and connectors that link Downtown Pittsburgh with interstate highways. Inbound traffic will be detoured via the Grant Street off-ramp and Fort Pitt Boulevard to the Stanwix Street ramp.

The ramp from Grant Street to the westbound parkway also will be closed.
