Washington County woman, 76, dragged during purse-snatch

A 76-year-old Washington County woman refused to let go of her handbag and was dragged during a purse snatching Monday.
Around 5:40 p.m. a car pulled alongside Joyce Sanders of Elrama, who was walking on Elrama Street, according to a release from the Southwest Regional Police Department. An unidentified male passenger opened the door and grabbed Ms. Sanders' purse. Ms. Sanders did not let go, though, and was dragged several feet down the street before the man was finally able to wrest the purse free.
The passenger was identified as a middle-age man with shaggy hair in a gold older-model Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable. The driver is possibly a woman with blonde hair.
Paramedics took Ms. Sanders to the hospital to treat her injuries.
