A Warren County man accused of entering a woman's home and killing her Thursday afternoon is in custody today.

Randy Lee Poole, 52, of Tidioute, has been charged with homicide and burglary after police say he killed Kathleen Sweeney, 56, just after 3 p.m. during a struggle at her home. Ms. Sweeney, also of Tidioute, was shot, Pennsylvania State Police in the Warren barracks said.

Police saw Mr. Poole in a vehicle on Tidioute-Enterprise Road about 7:25 p.m. and briefly chased him before Mr. Poole crashed the vehicle two miles west of Tidioute and ran into the woods. Police were unable to find him there. About 1 a.m. today, Mr. Poole was apprehended outside the borough and was awaiting arraignment.
