The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for this afternoon.

A line of storms is expected to hit Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland counties soon.

The weather service said some of these storms could be accompanied by lightning and winds gusts to 40 mph.

Rain showers and thunderstorms will continue this afternoon and through to tomorrow afternoon, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh said. The storms will likely be less severe than those that hit Wednesday, but heavy rain and lightning could again cause power outages, according to the weather service.

Tonight, temperatures will drop into the high 60s, according to the weather service. Tomorrow's high will be in the low 80s, according to the weather service's forecast.
