Penn Power is investigating after three cows died today following an electrical problem near a Beaver County farm.

Rob Lombardo, a spokesman for Penn Power, said the company received a call shortly after 12:30 a.m. today for a report that three cows on the Goehring Brothers Farm on Route 588 in Marion had died, possibly by electrocution.

Workers from the power company were investigating several theories this morning, including one that a tree had fallen on a power line, sending a surge into the ground and possibly to a water line that traveled to the farm.

A downed power line owned by Penn Power killed 10 cows on a Lawrence County farm yesterday, the Associated Press reported.

Additional information is expected later today.
