Sunday's PedalPGH bicycling event will be dedicated to the memory of co-founder Mark Schneider, who died Sunday after a bicycle crash.

Mr. Schneider, 55, was competing in the Catoctin Challenge, a two-day charity fundraiser in the mountainous terrain north of Frederick, Md.

Mr. Schneider served as chairman of the Sports & Exhibition Authority and the Stadium Authority, through which he played a key role in the development of Heinz Field, PNC Park and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

He was, 19 years ago, a co-founder of PedalPGH, an annual event that offers several biking routes in and around Pittsburgh. Money from the BikePGH-sponsored event will go towards the group's goal of creating safer streets in the city for bicyclists and pedestrians alike.
