Oct. 30 is the deadline for Allegheny County residents to apply for absentee ballots. Completed applications must be returned to the Elections Division no later than 5 p.m. that day.

Those seeking to vote by absentee ballot will be required to provide one of the following when applying: a Pennsylvania driver's license number, a PennDOT ID number, the last four digits of their Social Security number or a copy of an acceptable photo ID.

Registered voters who will be absent from their municipality on Nov. 6 or who cannot get to the polls because of illness or physical disability are eligible for absentee ballots.

Absentee ballot applications can be requested by mail or in person at the Allegheny County Elections Division, 601 County Office Building, 542 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh 15219. Eligible voters also can get applications at www.votespa.com or by calling 412-350-4520.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to applicants. The completed absentee ballot must be returned to the Elections Division no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 2.

For fastest results, registered voters may visit the Elections Division and complete an application in person. If properly registered, voters will be handed an absentee ballot to vote on the spot.
