Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Fayette County has broken ground on its new Sundial Lodge, a replacement of the Mystic Mountain Ski Lodge that was destroyed by fire in February.

A sundial that was designed into the structure was the only surviving feature.

Chris Plummer, general manager, said the Sundial Lodge will be 6,000 square feet larger than the previous lodge, with bowling alleys, arcade games and an expanded restaurant. It will open by mid-December, he said.
