Jeannette man pleads guilty to child porn charges

A Jeannette man pleaded guilty today to sending and possessing child pornography.

William Blumentritt, 51, sent computer files depicting children being sexually abused to a Georgia FBI agent who was posing online as "Sonia" and pretending to be the mother of a 9-year-old daughter.

In online chats, Mr. Blumentritt asked the agent, "How old's daughter? ... Has she played with a guy?"

He suggested he should be the guy, according to court filings.

Mr. Blumentritt's ex-wife testified that he kept books about "dad-daughter" sex around the house hoping that his own daughter from a prior marriage would read them and "initiate ... some sort of sexual advance."

Mr. Blumentritt was to be sentenced today, but his attorney asked for a few weeks to get medical evaluations done. Mr. Blumentritt had been free on bond but was taken to prison by U.S. marshals today.
