A Green County couple was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Friday night after state police say they caught them smoking crack in front of a 6-year-old boy living with them.

Duane Roy Hughes, 46, and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Hughes, 32, were arrested after state police in Waynesburg arrived at their home on Walnut Hill Road in Dilliner to serve Mr. Hughes with a felony warrant, police said. Inside the home, state police say they found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, along with Mr. and Mrs. Hughes smoking crack in front of the 6-year-old.

In addition to possession of crack cocaine, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes both were charged with endangering the welfare of children. Mr. Hughes also was charged with resisting arrest and Mrs. Hughes also was charged with hindering her husband's arrest.

State police could not say if the boy is the couple's child, or where he is living now.
