Eight months after pleading guilty to using his medical position to grope female inmates at the Allegheny County Jail, John Johnson Jr. isn't a nurse anymore.

The state Board of Nursing Friday released documents dated Thursday officially stripping the 60-year-old Green Tree man of his license. He was sentenced in March to nine to 18 months in prison for institutional sexual assault.

Johnson worked for Allegheny Correctional Health Services, which provides medical services for the infirmary. He offered female inmates candy, soda and extra narcotics if they would give in to his demands.

His nursing license had been suspended since June 2010, shortly after his arrest.
