Escaped inmate from Lawrence County Jail sought

New Castle Police are searching for an inmate who failed to return to jail following a funeral.

Police issued this evening a felony escape warrant for Durand Lawson, 20, after he missed a 2:30 p.m. deadline to return to the Lawrence County Jail. Lawson was released on furlough to attend a family member's funeral. An Allegheny County dispatcher said Lawson blames police for his family member's death and could try to retaliate if approached. He is considered armed and dangerous.
