Deputy DA resigns to take court position

The second in command of the Allegheny County district attorney's office is leaving to become the court's chief deputy administrator.
Christopher Connors, who has worked for the prosecutor's office since 1988, became the first assistant and chief of staff in 2005 under District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr.
Before taking his current position, Mr. Connors served as the deputy in charge of the domestic violence unit when it was first created in the office.
He will serve as the chief deputy court administrator and become an employee of the state of Pennsylvania. Members of the DA's office are employed by the county.
Mr. Connors starts in his new position on Monday. The opening was created when the former chief deputy, Claire Capristo, was promoted to the position of court administrator.
"Mr. Connors will bring a wealth of experience that will translate well in to the management of court operations," she said.
Before joining the court administration in 2005, Ms. Capristo served in the same role in the DA's office as chief of staff.
A spokesman for the DA's office would not comment on who might replace Mr. Connors.
