Defendant's girlfriend testifies in police shooting trial

The girlfriend of the man accused of killing a Penn Hills police officer and another man lied to police in her first interview with them.
Kashawna Jackson testified this morning that when she first spoke to police at 4:25 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2009, she claimed Ronald Robinson had been with her for the entire previous day.
About two hours later, she admitted that she had been lying.
Ms. Jackson was the first of two witnesses called today in the fifth day of Robinson's trial for the slaying of Officer Michael Crawshaw, 32, and Danyal Morton, 40.
The prosecution alleges that Morton was killed because he owed Robinson $500 for cocaine.
Also testifying today was Todd Luckasevic, the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsies on both victims.
He told the jury that Morton was shot four times in the chest and abdomen and that any one of those four wounds could have been fatal.
Crawshaw, who was shot while sitting inside his patrol vehicle while responding to a 911 call from Morton at 201 Johnston Road, was shot twice -- once in the upper left arm and once in the head just below his left eye.
Dr. Luckasevic said that the shot to the officer's head was "instantly fatal."
