Armstrong Township woman dead after SUV hit her

An Armstrong Township woman is dead after an SUV hit her late Wednesday afternoon.

Indiana County Coroner Michael Baker said Michelle Lynne Hensley, 45, was struck in the westbound lane of Route 422 across from the car wash in Shelocta near the border with Armstrong Township just before 5:30 p.m.

She was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at 6:07 p.m.

Mr. Baker said Ms. Hensley died from multiple injuries. No autopsy is planned and toxicology tests are pending.

Mr. Baker did not identify the driver of the vehicle.

The Indiana barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police were investigating.
