Air warning issued for Saturday

Pollution levels in much of southwestern Pennsylvania will be high enough to irritate some people Saturday, the state Department of Environmental Protection warned today.
The warning, called a code orange, means that young children, senior citizens and people with respiratory problems such as asthma, emphysema and bronchitis might find it more difficult than usual to breathe. It applies to Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
The department suggests that people living in those areas take certain precautions to help reduce the pollution levels, such as riding a bus or carpooling, washing dishes and clothes in full loads as opposed to partial load and turning off lights that aren't being used.
