A former Allegheny County Jail corrections officer is expected to plead guilty Monday to charges related to the alleged beating of an inmate in 2010.

Arii L. Metz, 34, of the North Side, faces a charge of deprivation of civil rights. He was accused of punching former inmate David Kipp, and pleaded not guilty two years ago.

U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer has scheduled a change of plea hearing for Monday.

Mr. Metz's attorney, James Wymard, could not be immediately reached for comment. The case against Mr. Metz was the first filed by U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton's Civil Rights Section.
