A few lucky Pittsburghers will get to see "The Dark Knight Rises" Wednesday, although the movie doesn't open in theaters until 12:01 a.m. Friday.
Six Walmart stores Saturday will give away 12 tickets to a special advance screening of the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. Customers can drop their names into a lottery box beginning today.
The drawings will take place Saturday 4-5 p.m. at the Cranberry, Butler and North Fayette locations in Pittsburgh and 7-8 p.m. at the North Versailles, Connellsville, and Washington stores. Winners must be present to collect their tickets.
Walmart executive Brent Duwe said Friday morning that the prize giveaway is unique to Pittsburgh and that Walmart stores wanted to join the excitement now that the film, which partially was shot in the city last summer, is coming to the silver screen.
The invitation-only advance screening is Wednesday at AMC Loews Theater at the Waterfront, at 7:30 p.m.
