Woman charged in crash that killed man in Stowe

Allegheny County police have charged a woman in the death of an 86-year-old man who was unloading a truck that was struck by the woman's car.

The wreck occurred about 10:20 a.m. Dec. 5 in the 600 block of Broadway Avenue in Stowe. Anthony Perri of McKees Rocks, who had been unloading produce from the back of the truck, was thrown from the truck as a result of the collision and struck his head, county police said. He died of his injuries a week later.

Police said Thursday that they had charged Jennifer Roedler, 52, also of McKees Rocks, with homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence and reckless driving.

She was being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending arraignment.
