from Cornell High School, Christana Gonzalez from South Side Area High School and Carla Riggs and Ethan Winkle from Central Valley High School have received $500 Mark Stainbrook Memorial Technology awards from Questeq Inc., a technology management company. The awards were presented at each student's commencement ceremony.
• Moon Area High School students Lindsay Ottaviani, Stefani Montelone, Matt McCready and Zack Rich won the quiz bowl at the recent DECA International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City.
• Cornell School District seventh-grader Darian Wagstaff-Hermansen won the Alliance for Safe and Drug Free Children Seventh-Grade Poster Contest in the creative expression division. Fawna Vomacha and Kaila Knebes were honorable mention winners.
• Carnegie Elementary School third-grader Anthony Scheers won the school spelling bee. Breanna Ault was second and Jalessa Griffin was third.
