New app feature
Heritage Valley Health System is introducing a new feature to its Version 2.0 "iHVHS" Apple iPhone app to include a digital version of its Heritage Valley Care Card, which was introduced in 2001.
The card enables patients and providers access to personal health care information through a bar-coded card. Care cards can be scanned at touch screen kiosks in various Heritage Valley facilities to streamline the patient registration process.
The Care Card Manager feature allows users to manage care cards for the entire family and scan the virtual care card on their iPhone to "digitally" register at Heritage Valley Health System facilities.
iHVHS enables users to access health care comparison data and locate a Heritage Valley physician or service. The app uses geo-tracking to direct consumers to the nearest Heritage Valley site. To download a free copy of the iHVHS iPhone app, visit the Apple iTunes app store and search "iHVHS" or "Heritage Valley."
