A&S Federal Credit Union open to public
The A&S Federal Credit Union, a member-based financial institution, has become a community-chartered credit union, open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Beaver County.
Established in 1940, the A&S Federal Credit Union, formerly known as the A&S RR Employees Federal Credit Union, was formed by individuals who worked on the Aliquippa & Southern Railroad. Membership was restricted to those railroad employees.
Recognizing a decline in railroad members and a changing economic climate, the A&S board sought approval from the National Credit Union Administration to become a community-chartered credit union.

Basketball academy offered at JCC
The Anthony DeCello Basketball Academy will offer shooting clinics at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh in South Hills, 345 Kane Blvd., Scott, with a free introductory session from 4 to 5:30 p.m. June 10.
Participants will be given a free shot analysis using the new Noah Basketball Shooting System, which digitally analyzes a player's shooting arc and provides immediate feedback, instant video review and printed shot arc plots.
Players will develop shooting accuracy, mental conditioning and footwork in the summer clinic from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays starting June 17. Cost: $30 for each two-hour session for JCC members, and $40 for nonmembers.
St. Philip parish festival begins Wednesday
Dinners, nightly entertainment, children's entertainment, games, auctions and a flea market will be among the activities during the three-night St. Philip parish festival starting Wednesday in St. Philip courtyard, 50 West Crafton Ave.
The nightly schedule is 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and June 14, and 6 to 11 p.m. June 15. Information: 412-922-6300.
Road restrictions during maintenance
Traffic will be restricted this week during maintenance by state Department of Transportation crews on these Beaver County roads:
• Bradys Run Road in South Beaver, Chippewa, Brighton and Patterson - Drainage work between Constitution Boulevard and Groscost Road.
• Constitution Boulevard (Route 51) in Aliquippa, Center and Monaca - Sweeping between the Allegheny County border and Pennsylvania Avenue.
• Fairlane Boulevard in Big Beaver and Koppel - Patching between River and New Galilee roads.
• Gas Valley Road, Greene - Shoulder cutting between Hookstown-Frankfort Road and the West Virginia line.
