Allegheny County police are asking anyone with information about a man who died on the Montour Trail last week to call them.

Jeffrey Black, 43, of Coraopolis, was found dead on the trail below Summit Park Drive shortly before 10 a.m. on Friday. The Allegheny County medical examiner's office found that he died of blunt force trauma to the head and trunk but has not yet ruled on the manner of his death.

Lt. Andrew Schurman wrote in a news release that Mr. Black "either fell or jumped to his death below the overpass." He said Mr. Black, a slender white man with a thin build, was wearing a black Steelers T-shirt on top of a purple button-down shirt and black jeans.

Police suspect he died between 9:20 and 9:54 a.m., the lieutenant said. Anyone who was on the trail or Summit Park Drive between those times or who has information about Mr. Black's death is asked to call county homicide detectives at 412-473-1300.
