Police were searching late Wednesday night for a man who failed to return to a Beaver County halfway house as required.

State police in Mercer said Kevin M. Clancy, 53, left Penn Pavilion on Penn Avenue in New Brighton Wednesday on the premise that he was supposed to be looking for a job. He was supposed to return at 2 p.m. but did not.

Police describe Mr. Clancy as a black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds. He has scars on his left forearm, right shoulder and where his appendix would be. He also has a "Nina" tattoo on the left side of his chest.

Police suspect that Mr. Clancy, who was convicted of robbery, is driving a 2003 silver Ford Taurus with Pennsylvania license plate HZG-8295.
