Police investigating Hopewell teacher-coach

A long-time Beaver County high school teacher and coach is under investigation by police, but no one will say why.

Police in Hopewell on Thursday confirmed that they are investigating Joseph Rubino, 37, a science teacher at Hopewell Area High School and the baseball coach there.

Police would not elaborate yesterday and the school district has refused to comment.

Mr. Rubino replaced Joe Colella as baseball coach after Mr. Colella died last year. Mr. Rubino had been Mr. Colella's top assistant for 12 years.
