Police and probation officers swept through McKees Rocks Friday morning and rounded up 14 people wanted on charges of dealing in heroin.

The roundup followed a six-month undercover investigation by McKees Rocks police and the Allegheny County district attorney's drug enforcement team.

McKees Rocks police Chief Robert Cifrulak said the operation should make a dent in the narcotics trade in his town, where residents have complained about heroin dealers.

The arrests were conducted by his officers assisted by Stowe police, a Coraopolis K-9 officer, state parole agents and Allegheny County probation officers.

Many of those arrested had been on probation or parole, the chief said.

All were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
