A pharmacist already sentenced to federal prison for illegally distributing steroids on Monday was sentenced to six to 12 months more time for insurance fraud.

William Sadowski, 47, of McKees Rocks pleaded guilty Oct 26 to theft by deception and conspiracy.

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Anthony M. Mariani sentenced him to jail to be followed by seven years probation.

Sadowski was sentenced last week in federal court to 21/2 years in prison for conspiracy to improperly distribute steroids and human growth hormone.

That case is linked to former Steelers doctor Richard Rydze, who is charged with 185 counts.

Sadowski admitted to helping to distribute more than 40,000 doses of anabolic steroids from 2007 through March 2011.
