Owner, employee at Triangle Pet Control Services charged

The owner and a longtime employee at Triangle Pet Control Services have each been charged with one count of failing to provide veterinary care for a dog that died in a cage at the McKees Rocks kennel.
The charges were filed Wednesday by Ron Smith, chief humane officer for the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society.
The charges for owner Bernard Dudash and kennel manager Paul McIntyre are summary offenses. Possible penalties are a maximum fine of $750 and/or up to 90 days in jail.
Records indicate that a state dog warden saw the dog at the Triangle facility on Oct. 1 and told employees the dog was emaciated and needed veterinary care. The dog did not receive treatment and died in its cage on Oct. 4, according to the Humane Society.
Oct. 1 was the day that state officials suspended Triangle's operating license because of unsanitary kennels and improper record-keeping.
Triangle, which provides animal control services for nearly 60 Allegheny County municipalities, cannot pick up or keep dogs pending the outcome of a Dec. 4 hearing in Harrisburg.
