The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified a 15-year-old boy killed when a car crashed Wednesday night in Collier as Scott Katonka.

He was a student at Chartiers Valley High School, Kara Droney, a spokeswoman for the school district, said this afternoon.

"We extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families impacted by last night's tragedy," the district said in a statement posted on its website. "Beginning at 10 am, counselors will be available at the high school."

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner's office.

Ms. Droney did not disclose whether the other juveniles in the car were also students there.

Emergency dispatchers received a call about 7 p.m. for a report that a car had crashed near the intersection of Scotts Run and Noblestown roads.

Another person was flown to a local hospital for medical treatment, a dispatch supervisor said. There was no word on that person's condition today.
