North Fayette officials are preparing for the potential development of apartments and senior housing.

Development director Laura Ludwig said tonight she plans to propose a zoning amendment that would allow high-rise and garden-style apartments in business districts.

A developer interested in constructing apartments for senior citizens has been evaluating two properties in Imperial and Hankey Farms, while two other developers have been considering a site in The Pointe at North Fayette for a multi-family apartment complex, she said.

No plans have been submitted to the township yet.

"It's just important to be proactive rather than reactive," Ms. Ludwig said.
