A new, 23,300-square-foot public works building is the centerpiece of a $3 million improvement project North Fayette is planning at the 21-acre municipal complex on North Branch Road.

The township also intends to convert a garage into a facility for ambulances and fire trucks, reconfigure parks amenities, add parking and expand administrative and police offices, manager Bob Grimm told the planning commission tonight.

He said the formal proposal was not ready yet for submission.

"It's a very complex plan that we're working on," Mr. Grimm said.

Correction/Clarification: (Published March 19, 2013) A previous version of this story gave an incorrect figure for the cost of the improvement project at the municipal complex.
