Noblestown Road was reopened to traffic Thursday night in North Fayette, just outside the Oakdale border.

A $352,000 state project to replace a bridge just west of the intersection with Whittengale Road was completed about a month early by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and its contractor.

The road was closed in mid-July, affecting about 3,800 vehicles a day. Detours originally were to occur through late September.
