A portion of Noblestown Road at the North Fayette-Oakdale border is set to close next Tuesday for up to two months.

The state Department of Transportation will post detours during a bridge reconstruction in North Fayette near the intersection with Whittengale Road, near Steele Auto Body and Leininger's Auto Service.

From Oakdale, the posted detour for cars will be Route 978 South/Union Avenue, Battle Ridge Road, Robinson Run Road and Laurel Hill Road.

Trucks will have a longer detour that uses Route 978 North, North Branch Road and Route 980/Robinson Highway.

Heavier traffic is expected on side roads and North Branch Road, where North Fayette police plan to have extra patrols, Lt. Mike Hamm said Tuesday.

"It's going to be a long two months," he said.
