Montour School District is accepting applications for a business manager to replace Peggy Schweitzer.

Superintendent Donald Boyer said tonight that Ms. Schweitzer plans to retire, possibly at the end of January.

"This was her decision, not ours," school board President Ron Smith added.

In March 2011, the district hired Ms. Schweitzer as business manager and guaranteed her job through at least Aug. 31, 2012.

The deal was part of an agreement to settle an age bias claim that Ms. Schweitzer had filed after Montour did not renew her employment contract as an accountant under then-business manager Samuel Reichl.

The deadline to submit resumes is Friday. Job requirements include a bachelor's degree in business management or a related field, and experience in finance, accounting and management.
