McKees Rocks police this morning began rounding up 14 people suspected of dealing heroin following a six-month undercover investigation by local officers and the Allegheny County district attorney's office drug unit.

The suspects were being taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

McKees Rocks police Chief Robert Cifrulak said the operation should make a dent in the narcotics trade there.

The roundup was conducted by his officers, assisted by Stowe police, a Coraopolis K-9 officer, state parole agents and Allegheny County probation officers.

Many of those arrested had been on probation or parole, the chief said.
