Allegheny County police charged a man with gun violations and reckless endangerment after he accidently shot his friend in the head in a McKees Rocks gunfight Tuesday.
Brandon Reynolds, 26, was arrested Thursday afternoon. He was unable to post bail and taken to Allegheny County Jail.
Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk said that around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday unidentified men began firing at a car driving away from a Bottom Dollar store at Amelia Street and Chartiers Avenue.
Mr. Reynolds, a front seat passenger, fired back. Police believe he accidentally shot Aundre Palmer, a back seat passenger, as the driver hit a curb and blew three tires trying to get away. Mr. Palmer, 24, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and is blind from his injury.
Lt. Korczyk said Mr. Palmer and the men who fired at the car had an "unremarkable" conversation inside the store before shots were fired, but were unsure of a motive in the attack.
