Man armed with gun arrested outside Friendship Ridge nursing home in Beaver

A man armed with a semi-automatic gun was arrested outside a Beaver nursing home, according to KDKA-TV.

Sheriff's officials said they took Larry A. Hicks, 53, into custody outside the Friendship Ridge nursing home.

Mr. Hicks walked into the nursing home and said something about "killing" and then walked out, a nurse said. Deputies said Mr. Hicks claimed his mother was being "mistreated."

They found Mr. Hicks with a semi-automatic gun and a knife. He was arrested and taken into custody.

Mr. Hicks has been charged with a felony count each of terroristic threats and a firearms violation; as well as harassment and defiant trespass.
