An Avalon man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a McKees Rocks home invasion in which grenades and an assault rifle were stolen.
Cameron Russell, 22, was awaiting arraignment on charges including robbery, burglary, reckless endangerment, theft, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, criminal conspiracy and simple assault in the armed robbery, which occurred Monday night.
McKees Rocks Chief Robert Cifrulak said Mr. Russell was arrested by Franklin Park police who had staked out his girlfriend's home looking for him.
Chief Cifrulak said Mr. Russell and an unidentified armed accomplice forced their way into a home in the 400 block of Gardner Avenue, where a 25-year-old woman was home, at about 7 p.m.
Mr. Russell quickly found the gun, a Bushmaster 4 rifle, in the bedroom. He also stole ammunition and two grenades, the chief said.
