Imperial road work ahead of schedule

Work to improve the Five Points intersection in Imperial may wrap up about two months ahead of schedule.

Contractors could finish as early as mid-July, North Fayette manager Bob Grimm said Tuesday night.Late September was originally the target for completion.

The $2.3 million project, headed the by state Department of Transportation, includes traffic signal updates, paving and installation of left-turn lanes at the junction of Route 30, Route 978, West Allegheny Road and two sections of Steubenville Pike. The area is near West Allegheny High School and the Imperial exit of Route 22/30.
