The president and CEO of Gateway Rehabilitation Center has announced he will retire July 1, 2013.

Kenneth Ramsey, who oversaw the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for 44 years, said Friday that he will remain involved as a consultant until December 2013.

Gateway, a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Moon, began as a 28-day program operating at one site. Today, the center employs more than 700 and has locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

The board of directors will organize a search committee to decide on Mr. Ramsey's successor.
